A HAPPY WEEKEND

It’s always a good weekend when the Bowral markets are on. Unfortunately, I left my camera and even my iPhone at home when I walked up to the markets so no snaps this time! I bought a bunch of Calendulas. The chap who sold them to me said that like tulips, they continue growing! They are guzzling up the water and they have opened up today. Such cheery happy flowers in one of my favourite colours!
I do love setting the table for a special meal. Friends came over for lunch today and I set the table yesterday afternoon as I usually take a bit of time mulling over what to use.
I also prepared the Moroccan Chicken yesterday afternoon and the couscous, pea soup and salad this morning.
The pea soup doesn’t look very good as the sour cream didn’t really blend in. |
Bathing the girls had become an emergency. Penny had rolled in duck pooh (the very worst kind of pooh!). They love their bath and especially the hair dryer!
Here they are looking gorgeous and waiting for their biscuits! |
My potted tulips have grown a lot this week!
The girls get very excited when friends come over and they love nothing more than to be included in the conversation!
Penny keeping her eye on the dip!
Desert was a delicious pear cake I bought at the Bowral Markets. I heated it in the oven and served it with ice cream… can’t go wrong with that! I love how the stalk of the pear was left in the middle!

Finally, my darling little Galanthus bulbs are flowering … I have brought them inside to enjoy them! Aren’t they adorable!
Wishing you all a very happy week, wherever you are!
Im not sure about the bowl… it has the most beautiful lid with a big flower which is the handle!.. When the bulbs are over I'll post a pic. Bowral is a wonderful town to live in smr … all year round! Thanks so much for the comment. Jenny
I love that bowl your tulip bulbs are in, is it Japanese?
Bowral's such a pretty town haven't been there for ages, lovely in Spring and Autumn
He is a wool coated labradoodle. Couldn’t face the hairs all over the house with another Labrador even though I adore them. And Grandson No 2 gets severe asthma so it was important for us to have a non shedding dog. He is chalk colour with one brown smudge over one ear. His nose is turning brown now too. Just eleven days old.You can see him on Burrinjuck Labradoodles Facebook. He is called ‘chalk boy' and wearing a purple collar. We are very excited – the whole family. Can’t wait!
Beagles are ALWAYS hungry Pammie … they are known to ruin a party or two!!

PS: The desert looked fabulous. Have I mentioned I love desert. Hope you'll tell us the tale of the sofa. I love entertaining too and cleaning up with a little help from the Husband. Something satisfying using lovely things and putting every thing away.
Years ago after our son had managed to pass the test for his driving licence he was always keen to borrow the family car (we only had one at that time). One day on our arrival home from work we were greeted at the door and invited to sit down and enjoy a surprise. We looked and there were glasses of sherry on the coffee table. He called out "how do you like the cheese and biscuits and everything"? But our beagle had got there before us. Every scrap of food he'd put out had vanished – though Fizzy (the beagle) drew the line at sherry. It kind of ruined our son's attempt to soften us up so he could ask for the car that night. We couldn't stop laughing. Best wishes, Pammie
Just realising how new readers are going to feel about all these hysterical comments!!…. What doggie are you going to get Tonkath? You must be excited? Love a puppy! xx
No words! AND we have just ordered a new puppy after a year and a half dog less for the first time. He comes in six weeks. I shall never let him off the lead on long trips after these mishaps. My husband once fed our labrador garlic sausages just before we left on an eight hour trip. We got about 2k down the road when he released some wind… the first time. Needless to say eight hours with the windows going up and down and our kids following in a car behind were hysterical. At least it was just the smell. It was not fun and hubby has never been let to forget it! Love the whole tablescape. How special your friends must feel. Tonkath
Hi Karen – thanks so much for stopping by! Sweet of you to notice the sofa… Therein lies a tale! I really love having people round – and cooking for me is so enjoyable! I don't even mind cleaning up afterwards! Looking forward to seeing your roses too ! Have a wonderful week! xx
