A Town Garden
Location: Australia, Bowral
Designing our garden in Bowral, on a 1500 sq metre block, has given me a great deal of pleasure, as well as many headaches!
We had been used to the wonderful soil on our farm near Robertson. The town soil was completely different, lacking in nutrients and full of clay; getting plants to grow well has been fraught with difficulties.
The front garden has a balanced, herbaceous garden, with lawn, a pond and a timber arbor. The rear garden has a level change – the upper level has large trees, lawn and a shade garden. The lower garden is a parterre, with brick paving separating all areas.
